Diana Restrepo
I’m from Bogotá, Colombia, place where I built all my experience.
In my native country I had the opportunity to teach voice for more than 20 years, where I was present in the process of many students, accompanying them to grow as singers, artists and especially as people.
I also had the fortune to sing in various places in its territory. As a soloist and with various groups I dedicated myself to sing Latin American and Colombian music, but I also sang for 14 years in professional choirs where the western classical repertoire was the core.
I have also dedicated myself to research. My project “Cantos al Aires” is an interdisciplinary space focused on the tunes, shouts and/or a cappella proclamations of the Colombian countryside, where the science of the voice and cultural studies meet.
Now, I’m living in the United States to share my vision with you.
